Sports injuries

Sports injuries are one of the most common health problems among active people. One of the most common injuries is a twisted ankle, often associated with capsule and ligament injuries. If this injury occurs repeatedly, it can even lead to cartilage injuries that require a longer healing period.

Tendon and muscle injuries

Tendon and muscle injuries are just as common. These include muscle fibre tears and tendon tears, such as those that can occur in the Achilles tendon or the peroneal tendons.

Fractures and bone injuries

Fractures as a result of sports injuries are rarer, but cannot be ruled out. Examples include metatarsal fractures or bony avulsion injuries of the tendon and ligament guides, which can lead to manifest bone fractures, particularly in the ankle joint, toes or in the metatarsal and tarsal area.

Treatment of sports injuries: Surgical and conservative

In our practice we offer Dr. Manfred Thomas and Dr. Georg Hochheuser We offer comprehensive surgical treatment for all of these injuries and their consequences. However, a conservative approach can often be successful and makes sense in many cases.

Chronic tendon attachment problems, which can cause considerable pain, are also treated by us. Surgical intervention is necessary in a few cases, but most of these complaints can be treated very well using conservative techniques.
